National webinars and workshops: August-September
Webinars:
The Australian BioCommons / EMBL-ABR presents regular bioinformatics webinars by leaders in their field. Join us on your lunch break to learn what’s new in bioinformatics: useful tools, exciting projects and research insights. Presented in conjunction with ARDC, you can register now for our upcoming speakers including:
- 29 Aug: Unlocking the secrets in your DNA – the dawn of cloud-native bioinformatics. Dr Denis Bauer, Group leader, Transformational Bioinformatics, CSIRO
- 4 Sep: Multi-omics statistical integration with mixOmics. Dr Kim-Anh Lê Cao, NHMRC Career Development Fellow, Melbourne Integrative Genomics & School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Melbourne
- 30 Oct: Genome Alliance in Australasia (GAIA). Professor Dave Burt, Director, UQ Genomics, and Chair, GAiA Steering Committee.
Hybrid bioinformatics workshops:
The Australian BioCommons / EMBL-ABR offers free hands-on bioinformatics workshops around Australia. Registrations are now open for ‘Implementing Scalable Bioinformatics Workflows in Snakemake & Nextflow‘.
This two-part workshop will implement a common analytical pipeline in both Nextflow and Snakemake, demonstrating the core concepts of both workflow managers while providing a means to compare and contrast the two. The workshop is intended for life science researchers with command line experience who use bioinformatics workflows in their research.
Join your local group on 25-26 September to hear from expert lead trainers and undertake hands on tutorials with the support of local trained facilitators. Registrations are essential and places are limited: https://www.embl-abr.org.au/about/events.
